Under The Shining Leaves

Hello everyone! I told you there was a photostory coming… 🙂

It was late on a Sunday evening in Bluebell Village. The light was beginning to fade, and most of the children were getting ready for bed. All was quiet in the Beaufort household, until…

“Verity! The homework!” Valentine suddenly shouted.

“Homework?! We didn’t have any homework to do.” she replied, feeling very confused.

“Oh yes we did! We had to find a tree in the woods and then study it. I haven’t done a single bit, not even one word!” Valentine was beginning to panic. What would his teacher think if he went to school with no homework?

“Come on, I have a plan! Follow me, but be quiet.” They tiptoed through the house together. Verity went into the kitchen and picked up a bunch of bananas so that they could have them as a snack. She also got a notepad and a pencil to write with.

“Can’t you carry something Valentine?” sighed Verity as she walked down the road balancing their belongings on her head.

“Let’s go to the magic tree!” Valentine said.

They walked and walked until their tiny legs were aching. Eventually they reached the tree and Verity sat down. She whipped out the notepad and started to write. At the top of the page Verity wrote in her neatest handwriting: ‘Under The Shining Leaves’.

“I’m going to climb it!” Valentine shouted to his sister

“Oh Valentine, you always want to show off and you think that you’re the best at everything.”

“No I don’t!” he shouted “I bet that you wouldn’t be able to climb this huge tree, you’re just a girl!” Verity felt anger building up inside her.

“Actually, girls can do anything that boys can do.”

“Huh. Yeah right.” Valentine began to scale the trunk of the tree. He climbed further and further until Verity felt dizzy when she looked up at him.

Verity tried to concentrate on her writing, but it was hard to do when her brother was shouting at her from high up in the branches.

“Look at me! I would like to see you climb this high!” he laughed.

Suddenly, Valentine lost his balance and slipped when he wasn’t concentrating. He was dangling from the tree, clinging to a thin branch.

“Aaaaah! Verity help me!” he screamed. Verity ran over to the tree and tried to stand directly under her brother. The darkness made it difficult for her to see up in the tree. There was a loud sound; a sound that was exactly like a branch snapping. Valentine was falling towards the ground and screaming. He thought for a second that it might be the end…

Verity collapsed to the ground as her Valentine landed in her arms.

“Thanks for breaking my fall little sister” Valentine said smiling.

I hope you liked it! There was a bit more drama than my usual photostories, but life in Bluebell Village isn’t always perfect. 😀

Queen’s Birthday Celebrated

Hello everyone!

In our country, royal events are very important. Things like a royal birth, wedding or birthday are celebrated with huge street parties and everyone joins in. We all gather together to watch the special event on the TV, whatever it may be. This time, we watched the Trooping of the Colour in London which was attended by the whole of the royal family. I remember when I was 10, we had a party at school for Prince William and Kate’s wedding and we watched the whole thing (it was pretty long!) When I was a little girl I always loved seeing the carriages being pulled down the mall and the wonderful moments on the balcony of Buckingham Palace…

…I have some pictures of the sylvanians in Bluebell Village celebrating:

They celebrated in true British style – with a lovely dinner of fish and chips! Or for my American readers, fish and fries. 🙂

They partied all afternoon long with dancing and singing. It was a truly wonderful day for all in the village.

Hotter than Ibiza?!

Hello everyone! I have returned to the blogosphere! I don’t know about anywhere else, but at the moment the place where I live in England is absolutely BOILING hot…. Apparently it is hotter than Ibiza!

Today I am bringing you my first ever Sylvanian photoshoot. I went out into the garden with Annabell Buttercup and took some pictures. Enjoy! 🙂

My mum said she thinks this angel looks like it should be on a grave, but I think it looks cute in the garden.

Hey, how did you get up there? 😛

This is the second horseshoe that my dad has found in the garden while digging.

Well, I had a really good idea for a picture, but our photoshoot was sadly cut short because of a summer storm. Even though it is hot here, it is still raining (there’s some thunder and lightning too, and that makes the random downpours much more exciting!)

I have been nominated for quite a few tags/awards, and I am still participating in AAWC, so look out for more posts soon! And yes, I was participating in BIBPC but I have only entered one category. I just feel like before I have had a chance to find out what one category is, the next one has already come along…. And I’m not too great at photography! 😀

Flashback time!

Hello everyone! Today I’m going to be doing a little bit of a flashback…

Lighting fail:

This was just after I bought Cedar Terrace, I didn’t even have the cow family at this point.

We had a huge celebration for Coral Babblebrook’s birthday. This post also included some terrible lighting:

I showed you what could quite possibly be the easiest craft in the entire world:

More terrible lighting, I didn’t use these photos in a post:

So as you can see I m not the best photographer, but I have got slightly better in my 3 years of blogging. I fell like I should have called this post ‘Lighting Fails!’ I hope you enjoyed this post!

Cooking with Crystal Babblebrook

Hello everyone! Today’s post comes to you from the kitchen where a host of chefs (Olivia, her brother, her mum and Crystal Babblebrook) are about to bake a wonderful loaf of banana bread.

Let’s see how things are getting on at Crystal’s table….

Meawhile at the human area…

Our mixture looks… Interesting?

A few hours later, Mrs. Babblebrook’s loaf is cooked and ready to eat. All the Sylvanians in the village will want a bite!

And here’s ours:

Ooooh, looks tasty! I hope you enjoyed this post, it is definitely not like any other post I have ever done! Comment if you would like more posts like this in the future.

Random Sylvanian-related things

Hello everyone! Yesterday I was looking through some boxes and things in my bedroom, and I gathered quite a collection of Sylvanian related leaflets and thingies. I also was reinded that I really need a clearout! 😀

First, I found a cuple of old collector’s club leaflets from 2011. They used to come in every Sylvanian box so I have loads of them scattered around the house. If the collector’s club was like this now then I would still be a member, but I don’t really like the new magazines.

Here is the packaging from my Calico Critters things from America. I kept them because I didn’t have any Calico Critters.

These leaflets came in every Sylvanian box and they have most of the Sylvanian sets on them. I have a lot of these, some of them Calico Critters but most are Sylanian.

This is inside a little Sylvnaian Families notebook that I got a long time ago. It has stickers in the front. I don’t know about any of you, but when I get stickers I think: ‘I don’t know where to put them!’ …And then I end up never sticking them anywhere.

I hope you enjoyed that random little post. See you again soon!
